"You Gotta Have Style"

“You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It’s a way of life. Without it, you’re nobody. I’m not talking about lots of clothes.”-Diana Vreeland
For me, Diana Vreeland is the quintessence of style goals. She is what I aspire to daily. I am almost temped to make a WWDD bracelet or pendant that I can look to whenever I feel myself uncertain about something. To her point, style isn’t about clothing. Well it’s not just about clothing. It’s what you stand for and what you believe in. It’s being true to you. Which is why I cringe whenever I hear someone talk about the rules of style. There may be “rules” to fashion, but there are not rules to style.
That is what I attempt to prove here. I attempt to showcase my style; however evolving and erratic it may be. If I had to sum up my style in one word it would be: experimental. I will try anything at least once. If for no better reason than to say I’ve tried it. Feel free to look on at my experiment of style. Hopefully someone will find something they can get inspiration from. If not… at least my clothes will get some screen time.
“Why don’t you” was Mrs. Vreeland’s beloved article she wrote in Harper’s Bazaar. To commemorate her I am continuing her passion and pizzazz with “Why don’t we”. Thanks for taking a peak and stay tuned for more!
Cheers,
Kelsey
